After a very good start to the trip , a few things happened that forced me to re evaluate what I am doing.
In 40km I had replaced 2 tyres and 3 tubes on the trailer, which was not overloaded and probably suffered more from poor design. The towing arm broke off at the trailer end.
By poor design I mean that the tyres supplied with the trailer did not fit correctly to the rims. T The rims were hard to remove due to a axle design and the suspension caused the tyres to drag as you went around corners.
The bolts holding the tow arm to the trailer pulled throuh the metal.
On top of all that I had 2 cars fight for the same spot directly behind me, I thought I was going to die as the cars came down either side of me, one on a traffic island , skidding past so close that I touched it with my hand.
Then another car forced me off the road and into a ditch, never stopping to see if I was ok.
It is now the morning of the 29th Dec , the trip has been aborted, I am safe and still a little upset but wil be ok.
I will fly to WA and continue my support of Camp Quality in another way.
Thanks to my rescuers and all those that have supported me over the last few days.
And Thanks to the Lady that donated $30.00 at the Burrumbeet Pub.
